The ‘Darkest Knight’ Elseworld as a sort of jumping off point, is the reason Batman’s never held a Green Lantern ring because of his scope? Do we really know whether Bruce cares about aliens? I just think of him as the single character in the DC universe who is more driven than any other. NO ONE wants or needs what they want or need more deeply than he does.  I see a lot of evidence that for sheer force of will, he’s towering above a lot of characters…that’s what I see as summing up Batman- he’s driven. But I get that the Guardians would probably have to be like, “yo there’s a whole other bunch of planets out there, you’ve got bigger fish to fry” while Batman’d be like, “fuck you guys some one’s stealing from orphans in Gotham”. The yellow ring thing was kind of cute, I thought, but seriously…how is Batman as a true GL not a thing? Does Hal REALLY have more will power than Bruce? I just don’t see it.
